Sibu, Sarawak

Sibu is one of the city and parts of Sarawak. It is situated at the meeting with the River Igan Rajang River, about 60 km from the sea. Most of the Chinese people and the Foo Chow Iban of the Batang Rajang. There are also people of other Bumiputra Malays and Melanau. According to 2002 census, the population of Sibu is the total of 228.700 people.

Sibu attraction here is the hospitality of the people. There is also a high building, located Kong To Pack Sibu waters. Sibu population growing and many new housing estates were built. Sibu is a point perjalinan considered the relationship between the parts in the southern parts of northern Sarawak. Therefore, Sibu is one of the thriving commercial centers in the state.

Sibu has its own uniqueness with the farmers, local fruits and vegetables that may not or rarely found in Peninsular Malaysia which include fruit and fruit Dabai Engkalak is a favorite seasonal fruits communities in Sarawak, especially the Malays, Melanau and Iban.

Dabai fruit and fruit is rare engkalak in Kuching and most brought in from Sibu, Sarikei or Bintangor. Fruits and fruit dabai engkalak often become food for lunch or evening for the community in Sarawak, especially in Sibu, Sarikei, Kapit, Song, Bintangor, Mukah, Oya, Igan and others.

Both are really easy to get ready for that with soaked in warm water for several minutes until it becomes soft and then ditoskan water and mixed with some salt and it is ready for the meal. For some individuals were more delicious dabai eaten with soy sauce and fruit is often processed to be orange dabai.

In addition, the fruit can be cooked as food for lunch or evening is the fruit lakum. The fruit is often practiced by some people in Sarawak as a cure bitterness of this fruit of the throat and usually cooked in broth with the water in which the uniqueness of the sour taste is the secret of this fruit as the instigator of appetite, especially for someone who is a fever or loss of appetite.

Ayer Keroh

Ayer Keroh is a town situated in the state of Malacca, Malaysia.

The town is a major tourist spot of the state, apart from the old Malacca Town, due to its recent hosting of various interesting attractions. The Mini Malaysia and Mini ASEAN Park is situated in the town. The Park has scaled down versions of traditional houses typically found in each of the states of Malaysia as well as those found in the ASEAN region. It is an interesting insight into the culture and lifestyle of traditional Malaysia and ASEAN. Another site of attraction is the Zoo Melaka. Recently it has started a Night Zoo programme where tourists can observe animals at night, especially viewing the nocturnal animals in action. The Night Zoo is opened on Fridays to Sundays. There is also the Butterfly Park, Crocodile Farm (Taman Buaya) and the World Bees Museum. To sum it all up, Ayer Keroh also has a recreational forest.

Education and Facilities

Ayer Keroh has become home to medical students from all over Malaysia as well as foreigners due to it being the location of Melaka Manipal Medical College. Since its inception in 1997, it has produced many fine doctors who are currently serving the needs of their respective countries. It is also the location of the Melaka campus of Multimedia University (MMU), which was established in 1996 and is the first private university approved by the Government of Malaysia. The Melaka campus houses the Centre for Foundation Studies and Extension Education and three Faculties: Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Information Science and Technology and Faculty of Business and Law.

Here also is the industrial campus of Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM). The industrial campus is located at Taman Tasik Utama Industrial site. It houses all temporary faculties (except for Faculty of Electrical; FKE and also Faculty of Electronic and Computer Engineering, FKEKK which at permanent campus at Durian Tunggal, Melaka), and also the chancelorry office. Besides that, Ayer Keroh is also the home of Kolej Yayasan Saad, a fully-residantal school. Hospital Pantai Ayer Keroh, is a private hospital located here. There is also a cinema, MBO, in Ayer Keroh.

Travel

The Ayer Keroh toll is the main entry point into Melaka state using the North-South Expressway. This makes it easily accessible from any part of Peninsular Malaysia. The town is about 2 hours drive from Kuala Lumpur and one hour from Seremban. Ayer Keroh is also about 3 hours drive from Singapore.
